  • Cleaning up with Karcher High Pressure Cleaners

When choosing a high pressure cleaner to cleanup after a flood there are a few important aspects that need to be considered. Although the psi rating is very important it is also vital to look at the water flow rate of the machine. The higher the water flow rate, the easier and quicker it is going to be to clean out mud and sludge. Hot water is also another thing to consider, hot water high pressure cleaners will assist in the fighting of germs due to the temperature of the water. Please be aware hot water cannot be run through cold water high pressure cleaners.

Other things to consider are whether power will be readily and consistently available and if a generator is available for use. If there is no power and no generator then the best option would be to go for a petrol powered high pressure cleaner. If using a generator to power a high pressure cleaner it is essential that the generator’s kVa rating is a least 2.5 times the kW rating of the high pressure cleaner.

When using high pressure cleaners, especially indoors Kärcher highly recommends the use of safety gear including; safety boots, rubber gloves, hearing protection, safety goggles and protective clothing.

Governments and local councils in flood effected regions have advised residents to use water where necessary but to also be water wise - "Residents in impacted areas can use as much water as necessary to clean flood affected areas but are encouraged to be wise about water use by using high pressure hoses or hose nozzles. Residents in areas not affected by the floods are encouraged to be wise about their water use due to the huge demand on water supplies as the clean up gets underway."  (http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/).

  • Conserving Water

Australia is concerned about the drought in Australia and we are doing our best to help reduce water wastage

Kärcher Pty Ltd is proud to announce that our range of domestic high pressure cleaners have been accepted into the Smart Approved Watermark scheme.

The Smart Approved Watermark recognises the excellence in water saving products. The key objectives of the Smart Approved WaterMark scheme are to assist in the reduction of per capita water consumption in the areas of outdoor water-use via the labelling of appropriate water using/saving products and water related services and organisations.

As water restrictions continue to tighten, it is important that consumers can easily recognise products that will assist in water saving. Kärcher is committed to the programme, and believes that the scheme is an ideal way to educate the public about water conservation and aid in purchases of machines that will save water.

Kärcher Australia has worked in conjunction with savewater! to create material to promote the water saving benefits of Kärcher products.
